What is 'The Box'?

Back in high school I knew a kid who, instead of using a
backpack, would use a cardboard box to carry his books and papers in.
This was overall a good idea, it provided easy access to all his papers
and books, as well as built up his muscles from carrying it all day.
He could decorate his box in any way he wanted.

Securing it with a mesh of duct-tape and staples, he put stickers on it
and people could write messages and draw on it. People admired him for
his genius and his clever box, simply because it was a good idea.

The box was so simple, and it occurred to me that there
are so many good ideas out there, and that a place was needed to
recognize them all. So I figured; why not make a box of my own? A
digital box that I can share with the world! One that I can keep all
the good ideas in.

So welcome to The Box.

Always get the Green Light

Today I was almost late for work simply because a traffic light wouldn't change to green. My workplace is less than half a mile from my house anyway... This is an infuriating problem that happens to many of us. After I got home from work I decided to look up a solution to getting green lights more often. I hit Pay-dirt.

Video website "Veoh" provides many instruction videos for everyday problems and I quickly stumbled across the solution to red lights.

All you need are two strong earth magnets, and some heavy duty tape. Tape the magnets horizontally across the front fender of your vehicle.
I tested this, and it worked, every time! I pulled up to a red light, and in just a couple seconds would see the other directional light change to yellow, to red. Then mine would turn green. An excellent fix to an everyday problem!
